Books I’ve Read During Lockdown | David Peletz

On March 17th, 2020, San Francisco residents were told to shelter in place. It’s been almost three full months that we’ve been in lockdown now.

With some of the extra time I’ve had during the lockdown, I’ve dedicated myself to reading. I used to enjoy reading to fall asleep, but recently have gotten lazy and decided to watch Netflix as my way to unwind. Sometimes, I just find that my eyes are exhausted at the end of the day. That being said, I’ve set a goal to read 30 minutes per day. On many days, I read for much longer. On some days, I don’t read at all. Nobody is perfect. Just by reading at all, I feel like I’m moving in the right direction.

I figured that I would share the books that I’ve read during this lockdown (in no particular order):

Of these, my favorites were Man's Search for Meaning, Letters from a Stoic, Atomic Habits, and Quiet. Man's Search for Meaning and Letters from a Stoic both felt especially meaningful right now, as we live through this pandemic and don’t know when our lives will fully return to normal. In the near future, I hope to do individual book reviews and summaries to share what I enjoyed and learned from each of these books.

In the meantime, I’ll continue reading. I recently started Good to Great by Jim Collins and am liking it so far.
